NEW ORLEANS (February 22, 2021) – It is not always easy for students to keep up with multiple updates from more than one source, but Dillard might have found an answer with the new SGA app now available.

Dr. Courtney Williams, director of Student Engagement and Leadership, said he and the Student Government Association are seeking student feedback and suggestions for improvements.

Announced Jan. 25, the SGA app was created to provide an efficient way for students to access important information and resources in one place. It includes access to information on campus events, the academic calendar, COVID-19 updates, information on student life and student services, along with student discounts. Students can access the myDU portal, log in to Canvas and Bleu Connect.

It also includes tabs to register for emergency alerts, submit work orders and access contact information for all campus departments. All a student has to do is download the app and register using their student info

Williams said he worked closely with SGA President Traelon Rodgers and Vice President DeAndré Bell II to get the app developed over the Christmas break to make it available to students this semester.

Other members of the SGA like Amari Ferguson, deputy director of Student Success, contributed by providing helpful feedback. Williams said updates and announcements will happen in real time, and he plans to bring in Julia Tippen, SGA director of public relations, to make the updates.
